Wow this week has been truly mentle, been making animatic for a pitch, the ideas is called "Tiks" it feachers Mr. Tik and Cuz Tik.
The idea shows where abouts in the world Mr. Tik lives for the fist time and will have some random moments such as some photo realistic effects a bit like Sponge Bob.
Remember the film Beetlejuice? That was a random type of film, had loads of random moments init and at the end Beetlejuice gets got by a Sandworm!
This bit refrances the end of the animation and the world it is set!

Fly Tales Style's Tik!
Been looking into an old TV series i use to watch as a kid growing up, Fly Tales, which use to be shown on Cartoon Network early in the mornings.
I adore the style of the animation, its very simple and friendly looking and quite easy to draw, the background design is amazing, the colours very flat and not to busy with detail.
Originally the animation was a comic book invented by a french man going by the name of Lewis Trondhim, the book was called La Mouche which is (and if i'm correct) Fly.
Comic La Mouche and the animated version, Fly Tales has now inspired me to press on more with the idea of my very own little creation, "Mr. Tik" who I first made back in 2004, now I think its time for a little bit of a revamp and here he is.

The style of the character having skinny arms and legs makes it very easier and less time consuming to animate as its almost like working with a cut out, you can rub out the leg and replace it with a new black line.
Working with the head can seem like your working with a stop motion puppet, just rubbing out the pupil, filling the gap with the same colour as the rest of the eye then replacing the pupil where it then needs to go.
The eye lids even are just the same, draw a black line over the eye ball then filling it with its own colour.
The month is the same, just rub out the mouth shape, fill it back with green then draw the month in.
Really easy and doesn't take up to much time a normal animation probably would.
